Much of my work sits at the intersection between charities, local authorities, the NHS and communities. It’s complex work, but it matters deeply.

This blog isn’t about presenting myself as having all the answers.

In reality, most meaningful change in social care and the voluntary sector doesn’t come from big announcements or shiny new programmes. It comes from people quietly trying to improve things — asking better questions, fixing broken processes, building trust between organisations, and learning as they go.

That’s the spirit I want this blog to have.

Here I’ll share reflections on leadership, innovation in social care and the VCSE sector, improving systems, and supporting unpaid carers. Some posts will be practical. Some will be reflections on things I’m learning through my work. Occasionally I may challenge assumptions about how our systems operate and how they could work better.

Mostly, though, this is a place to think out loud and share what I’m learning along the way.

I also hope it becomes a way to connect with people who care about the same things — leaders, practitioners, partners and collaborators who want to improve the systems around health, care and communities. If sharing what I’m learning helps others improve their own leadership or the systems they work in, then this blog will have done its job.

If that sounds like you, you’re very welcome here.

You can follow the blog for future posts, or connect with me on LinkedIn if you’d like to continue the conversation.

Thanks for reading.

Andy

Welcome to andyhood.uk, my small corner of the internet.
