About

At the heart of my work is a belief that leadership should be both bold and compassionate. I focus on building strong teams, fostering collaboration, and creating systems that work for people rather than against them. My approach is grounded in listening well, understanding the needs of communities and staff, and turning insight into action that makes a tangible difference. Whether improving pathways for care, strengthening community support, or embedding innovation into organisational culture, I aim to make change that lasts.
Innovation is a constant thread through my work. I look for practical ways to apply new ideas, whether through digital platforms, process improvement, or service redesign, always with the goal of improving outcomes for people and communities. Alongside my leadership in established organisations, I embrace an entrepreneurial mindset—exploring opportunities to solve real-world problems, test solutions, and scale what works. This curiosity and willingness to experiment has informed much of my work, driving new approaches that combine technology, strategy, and human-centred design.
I have been fortunate to have my work recognised across the sector. In 2023, I received a Highly Commended award at the Exeter Impact Awards for outstanding contribution to social care innovation. In 2024, I was honoured with the Leadership Award from Care and Support West, reflecting both the tangible outcomes delivered through my work and the collaborative, values-driven approach I bring to every project. These awards underscore my commitment to integrity, impact, and building partnerships that enable organisations and communities to thrive.
Collaboration is central to everything I do. I believe the best results come from working alongside people who are equally committed to improving outcomes, whether that’s colleagues in a charity, leaders in local authorities, or community stakeholders. I thrive on connecting different perspectives, identifying opportunities for change, and helping teams translate ambition into action. My work with organisations such as Westbank Community Health and Care and the tech platform My Care Bubble illustrates this ethos: one focuses on delivering better community-based health and care for unpaid carers, the other on harnessing technology to simplify care coordination and support for carers and communities.

While my career is grounded in professional leadership, my motivation is deeply personal. I am driven by a desire to see communities and services function better, and to help people, whether they are care users, unpaid carers, or staff, feel supported, valued, and empowered. This human-centred focus shapes every decision I make, from strategy to delivery, ensuring that innovation and operational improvements are always anchored in real-world impact.
Over the years, I have developed a reputation for calm, values-led leadership. Colleagues describe me as reliable, responsive, and pragmatic, with the ability to navigate complexity and deliver meaningful results without losing sight of people’s needs. I take pride in creating an environment where teams feel trusted, supported, and able to do their best work, and where solutions are built to last rather than to impress in the short term.
Looking ahead, my focus remains on driving positive change across the VCSE and social care sectors. I aim to continue building partnerships, exploring practical innovation, and helping organisations scale their impact responsibly and sustainably. Whether through leadership, collaboration, or technology-enabled solutions, my goal is to make good things happen—supporting communities, carers, and organisations to thrive in a way that’s thoughtful, measurable, and enduring.
